What is my role?

As an admissions representative, I know it is my role to treat every student with respect and answer every question with the correct answer, if I don't know the anwers I will find someone who does have the correct information. Also, I will bring each student to any section of the school so that they are given the appropriate information or assistance needed.

I think this is a great method to provide assurance to the students that they will have their academic needs met. By coming to the instructor for help, or by knowing the instructor can refer you to someone, gives students the confirmation that help will be properly addressed.

Help the student obtain the correct information about disabilites

Give the correct the information to the student about her rights

I want to help the student being succesful in her career

Being very clear with helping this student and assist the student as needed

Being clear that I have the correct information for the student

I am a preceptor and I'm focused on the well-being of each and student whether they are disabled or not.I want to be the preceptor that all my student reflect back on and say that I assist them in every way possible to help them grow in a professional and successful career and future.

Scott,
That's wonderful! I'm always very clear with our Admissions folks-they are not allowed to discuss in any detail with a prospective student their disability. I've trained them all to say the same thing, "let me get you in contact with so-and-so. She assists students with disabilities".
