Misrepresentation

Now that you understand which areas of misrepresentation are federally regulated, Nature of the Educational Program, Nature of Financial Charges, Employability of Graduates and Relationship with the Department of Education explain which area is most important and why?

does not look good for the institution

All of them are very important to know.

All these areas are extremely important.

They all have an important role for an institution. One is not more important that the other.

All those areas are important. Potential students need to understand loans need to be repaid back. Graduates need to understand they are not guaranteed a job. No need to misrepresent any information to students or employees. This is the students rights to understand full disclosure of information.

I think that all areas are equally important. It is crucial to always give clear concise information in all areas. One student may be concentrating on what you say about the employability of graduates while another student may be focusing on what you have to say about her major. Constant clear concise honest information given by all departments is the only way to go when dealing with students.

All areas are of great importance, some students might be more inclined to ask about Financial aid, as others might be more interested in graduation rates etc. Ultimately we as the professionals need to not be scared of these questions, we need to be informed and transparent to answer any questions that students might ask. To know your institutions business and to be true to students, builds report and trust.

Misrepresentation is very important because if the institution is not truthful and the students sign up under false pretenses and false statements then the institution could loose money and accreditation. Funding can even be lost and the institution may have to close.

All of these areas are important to not misrepresent because they all potentially influence student outcomes.

Transparency is vital for admissions to do their job accurately.

I believe ALL areas are important and should never be misrepresented. However, Employability of Graduates is extremely important. These students need to know the truth about the job opportunities that are available.

I don't believe one is more important than the others. I think misrepresentation in any of these areas is equally harmful to both the student and the school.

I can not choose. All are important to be in compliance with student and agencies.

Kyle,

Thanks, this gets to the core - funding an education correctly and appropriately in concert with expected outcomes.

Sandra,

Excellent point! I would certainly want to know my return-on-investment. And when program costs, industry information and expectations/skills for interested job positions are all fully disclosed, the ROI is much more clear and positive! Thanks!

All these areas are extremely important to faculty and students alike. The nature of financial charges stands out to me. If there is any misrepresentation regarding student loans, that can greatly impact the students ability to fund their education. Having a student speak with someone in the financial aid department is so important so the student knows their rights and responsibilities.

All of them are.

They are equally important in that misrepresentation is wrong and should not be used to get students to enroll in your program.

Honesty is the best policy.
