Placement

In interviewing new student's, I have noticed, that 10 to 15% of them inquired about placement.

Cheryl ,
You are so right. Alumni are such a value to the career school sector. They are happy to assist with students, review the program to ensure it is complete and covers what is needed in the workplace, and can refer students to your school. Peer assistance is so valuable for students, who you point out need a lot of help. Alumni are close to students and can build rapport easily to provide great coaching. Thanks, Susan

I agree, its is so important to have alumni who have gone through the classroom training and are currently very active in their field of choice. They can provide so much insight and are able to mentor current students who do not have the self confidence and will to see past their current situations. Not only are they able to provide insight to students, they are also able to give feedback to faculty and administration as what trends and how the industry changes and their expectation of new graduates.

I find that although many are enrolling into schools - they have no idea as to handle themselves professionally or what is expected of them.

That's interesting. We find that prospective students mostly want to know about the job they will be able to get upon completion of training. And this is what makes it important to know about what the job and job market are like. And it's a compelling reason to have an alumni association with grads available to talk what what life on the job is really like. Thanks, Susan
