Surveys

Our Institution makes one survey a months to check how students feels about the school operation and one after their graduates regarding placement department. we also make an annual graduation ceremony after graduation.

what information should be included on the survey to the graduates? and to the employer.

Theresa,
Surveys are important and the information gathered from them. Few people like to fill them out. Therefore you have to use many strategies. An easy one is to hand out in class and require the completion. Another is to place phone calls and tell the person that the survey will only take two minutes. To survey employers ask to visit them. Then you can find out other information like how work ready your grads are and where the jobs are. As you know, there are many survey methods. What is important is to advise people of how little time is required and how important their opinions are. You might also provide some kind of small reward. There's no magic way except persistence and variation in the ways you contact people. Thanks, Susan

I believe surveys are a good thing to do. But we have such a hard time getting them back. We email, call and mail the forms out to get a response back. Some groups are easy and some are not. We ask each student to rate (on a scale 1-4 being excellent)Student Admission Process, Financil Aid Dept, Course Instructors, School Environment, Career Services Dept and the availability of the 4th Fl Adminstration. And lastly, would they recommend us to someone else? Then we also send one out to the Employer who has hired them and asked them too to rate the graduate. Our questions to them are: how well did our training match your job requirements? How satisfied are you with our graduates ability to follow instructions? their impersonal skills? their professionalism? their attendance? their overall work ethics? And finally, Would you hire another Omega student? The employers surveys are tough to get back too as the hospitals want you to go to their work employment verification dept which usually charges $16 and up. This gets quite expensive. Any other ideas out there???

Jany,
Surveys are always great. Who compiles the information and how is it shared at your school? Surveys provide a lot of information to be discussed so changes and improvements can be made. We suggest that graduates be followed within a week of graduation and then at least one time a month ongoing. MaxKnowledge has a course on developing Alumni. They are very important to the development and growth of your school. Thanks, Susan
