How do you find out what the student's goals are? Do you talk about goals in class?
find out what the students goals are and give advise on how they might be achieved ,this could help in the retention area because they could the explain where their problems are
A situation like this should also be a learning moment for the school. What could have been done to avoid the situation? Where did the process go wrong?
You find out why he's dropping out first! If this is not his dream and he made a mistake or rushed his decision to enroll and found out this is not for him, then encourage him to move on.
