retention

I agree that tutoring does reforce the student understanding , would help him form confdents in completeing his view..

I agree tutoring does wor because student know you care and concern about their grades and they want to get a good grade and it starts by tutoring for improvement

the direct contact with the student helps with their stress level

You have to tutor some students to help them become successfull.

I too agree that tutoring is a good option to have for all students, so long as the exams are not reviewed verbatim, etc.

I have found that tutoring is an awesome tool at getting to know where your student stands in not only his academics but also his personal problems, often a student will start to blame his academics on personal problems and this gives you an opportunity to give him some direction with his studies and who he might be able to talk to for the personal problems.

One on one usually brings out some kind of hidden concern that the student will not discuss anywhere else, and the instructors sympathy or suggestions on resolution often times help the student make the course a success.

Any One on One work with a student will offer a variety of support opportunities to help the student
