intervention should be timely

Waiting to late would have very negative outcomes

Need to identify at risk students in a timely manner to initiate an intervention

This is so important. I watch the students everyday from body posture to facial expressions etc. If I notice something different that day, I ask immediately. You can't wait too long. Look for changes and act right away.

I couldn't agree with you more. I act proactively. I have identified behavior and performance levels for at-risk-students at certain points in the course and whenever a student shows similar trends, I immediately intervene.
