Community Partnerships

Nothing can be more important than having a community partnership with your campus. There are many students how have significant needs that can be provided by community agencies. Here at our campus we have committed to "owning the local market". This includes meeting with our local schools and business to provide our students and future students the best possible learning experience and programs available to them.

We also are involved in the community. One of the many things or organization does is the March Of Dimes and this year will be the first year the students will be with the staff. I was very excited when I heard this and will be looking to include our students in other events. I think the students will feel like, we are all in this together and will give them an opertunity to talk to the staff out side the norm and to be part of something great.

Ours is a closed circuit learning invironment, in that all of what we teach evolves around people interested in automotive filds. We have the oppurtunity to involve students and staff in automotive related off campus events that help promote retention.

What do you mean by "owning the local market", Jimmy? Is your relationship with community agencies mutual? Do you provide support to them as well as them working with your students?

Interesting. How do you partner with the Chamber of Commerce? What other organizations do you connect with, Sheila?

We have found that community partnerships have also greatly benefited our school- especially when it comes to the local chamber of commerce.
