Build Retention
The company I work for has a great thing called Hero Values. I believe our Hero Values here build retention.
They are:
• Trust - We demonstrate integrity in all interactions while earning the trust and respect of others.
• Caring - We value open and honest communication, in an environment that unleashes the potential of the people we interact with - students, industry customers, employees and the community.
• Innovation - We are committed to continuous improvement and breakthrough achievements by collaborating with each other to create value to our business.
• Courage - We take bold, wise risks and empower others to do the same.
• Wisdom - We make decisions based on the organization's purpose, the legitimate needs of our people, and the necessity of profit.
• Fun - We create a playful place to work that consistently demonstrates an enthusiasm for life, ideas and satisfying work.
I think you have some great ideas, Itry to do the samethings.
I work for the same company. These values are instilled into us from everyone we work with. They are not only a way to improve retention, but are the very values we are graded on as employees.
When and where do you have these conversations, Victor? Do try to connect during class or do you prefer to set up an appointment outside of class time?
when students fall behind you have to talk to them find root cause and help their situation as much as possible
I will be inspiring, and lead by example. I believe I can make a difference!
Other forum participants have questioned their students' motivation. What are you doing to get them motivated?
I simply cover the basics, I challenge my guys to be perfect. They work real hard and usually do a good job. They are here for the right reasons, they get real motavatited in my class.
The HERO values if followed help us to keep the students involved and provide opportunities to maintain the retention to the highest levels.
i work at the same place as Richard and i foolow the same ideas
These values are shared with everyone. We try very hard to follow these standards and always try to improve.
Great list, Richard. Are these values shared with students, or even part of your expectations of students? Is the company able to live by this creed?
