Students understanding

A major part of the instructors job is to help the students understand what can be expected as they journey through their training. How they will be observed by other students staff and education managers. Clear concise communication.

Allana,

I agree with the approach of consistent and clear communication as being a key factor to reduce the fears some students may encounter during their scholastic experience. I would like to know what strategies you use in advising and counseling students who may need the guidance. I typically find that the students that are in need of counseling the most tend to be most resistant to it, what are thoughts on this or what approaches are you using to aid in the connection with these students?

Regards,
James

Allana--

The idea of regular communication with students to keep them updated and make them feel more a part of the institution is wonderful!

It is extremely important to develop a clear line of communication amongst the students and always keep a line of communication opened. It is important for instructors to also make time for students who are in need of advising or counseling. It is important to also make sure students receive frequent emails and announcements to feel a sense of inclusion and connection with the educational institution in which they belong.

Robert--

This can be very motivating for students to understand what is expected and what they will achieve over the course of their training. Do you use any particular strategies (e.g. students nearing graduation or alumni or ???)
