Making Students 1st impression
I believe first impressions are important.

Unfortunately, this is a common problem today. Students feel entitled. We all know this isn't how it works in the work place, but even there the attitude occurs.
I do agree, however, that admission folk need to be clear--and in our orientations--that this will be a challenge and they will have responsibility to master the subject.

Yes, and I would like to know that part of the first impression that students get when applying is that it will be hard work and that they will have homework outside of class. It seems that too many students think that they are paying for the education, so they deserve to pass, even if they don't do the required work.
Yes impressions are important because we sale DREAMS!
