Orientation

As a previous Program Director, I always encouraged admissions staff to invite my faculty as part of thier orientation.

New students meet most of all the stuffs before orientation and given the opportunity to ask questions before starting. They are also given list of all staff and faculty with phone #, emails, and descriptions of what their job duties are at the orientation.

Tis is a good idea and one that we follow at our school. We have grads come back and talk to new students; staff talk with them; we do icebreakers so the new students can meet one another and we give them a very short idea of what class will be like by having one of our instructors give them a short lesson in anatomy. The student love it.

When a student meet with the faculty and the staff together I beleive they see a team and unity and would desire even more to be a part of it.

I would indruce the faciluty that was available and have them explain the course they teach and a brief overview, I noticied that this would also motivative the student, they would see this as " it is actually happening"

Knowing the preparation and academics of your faculty is a strong indicator as well as motivator for new students pursuing a career. I believe that meeting the staff as well as the faculty will instill trust in our students.
