team work

Working together as a team in every department, helps the student be more active in knowing where to go and who to ask.

Having all departments working together and being on the same page is critical for student success.

I agree with this. If new students know where to go for information they may not feel comfortable asking in orientation and they see that anyone can answer the question, it should present the unity of the school which will help the student feel they have made the write decision to come here.

When working with other instructors, student see us working together to further their education and it seems to rub off on them.

When you speak of TEAM WORK that includes every link in the chain-from the front to the backdoor. CUSTOMER SERVICE is still the NAME OF THE GAME.

I agree. I think it would be very useful for upper level administrators to provide information to new faculty on what departments' functions are and who the contacts are. This would help with informing our students about their resources and making the college environment feel more connected.

I teach in a technical school where we have many support departments. I also happen to teach the first class that students are exposed to as well. I have formulated a PowerPoint presentation to guide students to the departments when they need them and my class has been placed in the hallway where students have access to all of them. The first day I give examples to show them who you can turn to in times of needed support.
