Faculty Involvement
As a faculty meber and director I try to meet with every student in my program and get to know them on a first name basis.They are informed by me of the expectations set forth for the program and the availability that they can seek me out with any concerns that they may have.Faculty must be willing to get to know there students and asses what learning needs and expectations that they have and give positive reinforcement.

It is very important to students when we as administrative/faculty know them by first name, and recall a conversation or life event they may have shared with us a week or so ago. It reassures them that we care.

It is wonderful that you meet with each student individually. I'm sure they appreciate it and it gives you a great feel for where they are mentally and academically.
