I agree because the new students are excited and their hopes are high so they want to know all of the requirements and expectations to become a good student. Therefore, they are more likely to adhere to policy and procedures if they are enforced from the begining.
Standard setting are a part of everyday life; wihout them we will fail. Students must now what the expectation are from the begnining. Without standard you will have an unprofessional work place your time and place will not last.
The instructor must set the standards early or student don't know what is expected of them and you may have lost a few students because they expected more from you.
