Students expectations.
Students really care how qualified Faculty are.
I like the idea of them writing down what they expect from me as a teacher. I will start implementing this in my 1st day of class.
I believe that students more than care how qualified instructors are- Learners expect that the educators "know their stuff". It's not just qualifications though; students need to know that their instructors care about them because typically, learners come from homes where getting a job (not a career) is what is important. Plus, if they didn't do well in school before, the student's self-esteem is low. They need to know that we actually want them to succeed.
I lay out the expectations that I have of them, and ask them to write down their individual expectations of me.
