I try my best to be a positive impact on my students, I fthey are struggling, I encourage them. If they lack confidence, then I try my best to the cause and help them.
We are also their coach, a role model, facilitator, educator and we need to be knowledgeable for the subject matter.
A coach gives positive feedback with each success.
I also think it is important to remind the students that you have been there. I often tell my students that I admire them for continuing their education. I let them know that I remember the sacrifices that must be made in order to make school work a priority in their already busy lives. For my students who are parents, I let them know what a good role model they are being for their children.
Everyone needs to be lifted up in life to keep on the positive side.

One of the things I do is ask the students individual how their weekend, holiday and/or situation is going? I also compliment student's attire, hair, shoes and other items they may bring into class to let them feel special and noticed.
By example. Being polite and remind them to be that way. Explain importance of proper dress dress code and why it is so i ortant in medical field. Acknowledging students when they come in the class. Ask them how things are. Get to know a little about what their family life is like so i can understan their issue. But still remind them the impotance of followwng rules and regulations.
