Applicant qualification checklists
I think these are a great way to find out whether or not the student has a strong understanding of the program they are interested in attending. Sometimes students are not aware of what they're getting themselves into, and by the time they find out it's too late.

We should be identifying resources to help the students and not be guiding them out unless we find the program is not a fit with what the student wants in a career.

I completely agree that checklists are an important, necessary and effective tool that can be used to screen students and sort out the students that might later on in the program withdraw.
I also agree that it is an excellent idea for students complete a checklist to assist them in determining whether or not this profession is really for them.
I agree that using qualifications checklist minimizes a student learning later in program that it's not for them. I've had this to happen on at least one occasion.
I agree the checklist is an excellent way to assess student knowledge of the program they are applying for. A low score only means we need to supply the student with futher information about the program ensuring that the student understand the program content.
Exactly, the checklists hopefully reduce the incidence of what i've experienced a couple of times of students realizing half way through course that this occupation is not for them.

I concur Aleesa! I have experienced students enrolled in programs who are oblivious to subject matter and even the type of job that their program trains them for.
The application qualification checklist ensures that the student is more cognizant of the choice they are making.
