mentoring
I really like the idea of having a formal mentoring program. Is this an option for our Concorde students?
Patrick,
Giving them a real world perspective helps set proper expectations for their career.

Sir
I spent the last 28 years in the USAF as a medic, Part of our process was ongoing mentorship. I have started to use this action with my students (military style) and have a good results. I teach them as if they were my clinical staff and allow them to see their actions at work.
Melvin,
The experienced student can also "tell it like it is" to the new student.

I have seen a "Big Brother"/"Big Sister" mentoring program work extremely well where an upper classman is assigned to a lower classman student and becomes a "go-to" person when there are issues the student is having. The upper classman knows the resources available to guide the student in the right direction.
Elizabeth,
It helps if all have clear guidelines on how to mentor and guide.

I know that the nursing program has just assigned specific instructors to groups of students for mentoring and guidance. We also have success center which is oriented towards tutoring
Aleesa,
You will need to check with your campus leadership. Good luck.
