employment

this is one of the most important parts of educating the student. most don't understand the process and don't realize how important first interview is. be early be dressed appropriately have a reference cheat sheet talk with sincere voice control be prepared to give examples be prepared to do demostrations when the students returns help him feel good about himself if he gets the job celebrate if not try to find out why and help him interview better give encouragement let the student practice on you.

Bibi,

Students should know what support their is outside of the class. Thanks for sharing.

Ron Hansen, Ed. D.

During my orientation, I bring student services to talk about professionalism to students and discuss ways that will help them in the real world.

The students really respond to lessons if they are applied to real world scenarios and getting hired for a job. After certain lessons and/or projects I like to give students advice on how to explain there work to potential employers and show a firm grasp of the lessons we just learned.

this is what I also do. Take my real life experiances and relate them to the students experiance. Help them learn HOW to interview and look for problems which might surface.

Scott,

Perfect. This will help your retention efforts.

I try to give my students real world situations in the classroom so they can be better prepared to face the "real" world.

joseph,

Exactly... you don't get a second chance to make a first impressions... usually.
