Our job is second?

I don't get the quote from joe Pace and I even watched the video.

We change lives, our job is second? I know we are here to change lives, but I don't understand the part about our job being second...

This makes no sense to me. Please clarify. If you can get Joe to call, maybe that would help. LOL.

Thanks!

i dont think so, if you love your job you will teatch with love and push your student to do the same

I understand we should look at it as we change lives as we teach. Not that i go to work and it my job and thats all that matter. I should remove my self for the idea of going to work and think of it as going to help and teach.

I think it is that we need to understand the whole picture and not get stuck on our teaching'job'. We need to see that we have a valuable product and that product can and does change lives. When we see that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves and passionately teach, then the teaching is secondary but the learning(student) is first.

Agreed. If you look at it as a job its ok. If you truely have a passion for it, it does change a life. We just have to care a little.

Stephen,

I think Dr. Pace is saying that if we focus on changing lives, we cannot help but to do our jobs well. As a former school owner, Dr. Pace knows how important each position on the staff is to student and school success.
