Making a + Impact

This can be done by a simple smile. Many students the only time they get recognition is while at school.

Thanks, Joseph.

Our adult students need to be treated with respect, but they also may need a lot of handholding to get them where they need to be.

That's a big point, they are adults now, they deserve to be treated as such.

If you just take a few minutes to find out a little bit about each student and let them know you care about their problems And that you are there for support it seems to really make a difference in their confidence.

Lori,

You have shared one of the true rewards of teaching. Thanks!

I recently had a student come to me that was no longer in my class and ask for help. I was so happy that she felt she could come to me and it all started when she was in my class with a smile. Then throught the weeks we worked through some things and she ended up respecting me and my time. I am watching this student bloom into something I once questioned was going to be possible.

I agree, a lot of our students appreciate the instructors treating them as adults and caring about them. It really helps them push to succeed.
