I remember fully well what my teacher told us in one of our education classes. That the Teacher is the number 1 or the best visual aid you can provide in a classroom setting.
No matter what kind of visual aids, lesson plans, strategies for Plan Bs, in case Plan A won't work, it is always the teacher who can "adlib" her presentation in the classroom. I also learned that a teacher must be versatile, like, a performer. Nobody will prompt us when we forget our lines, however, if we have a "prompter" like a readymade powerpoint presentations, or even an index cards, or even a short story, then we, as teachers, can save the monotony of a boring lecture, or bored students gong in and out of the classroom. I always carry with me real life cases taken from the website to reenforce my lecture, or an interesting 2 - 5 seconds case scenarios from the websites, or you tubes. Technology has much to offer for teachers, we can reinvent them to our advantage.
In essence, we, teachers, dashed with versatility, are the best visual aid, ever..
Versatility in the classroom must be projected as we navigate the learning process.
The classroom, is the best stage, that any teacher and student, can perform and learn together.
