Tequila, I think you have identified a major issue. Students with disabilities need to learn how to manage their disability-related symptoms to survive in the real world. Managing may INCLUDE learning how to advocate for themselves and ask for accommodation, but they will need to understand their disability well enough to know what to ask for.
