I don't think that the professional development course incorporated in a student's course of study is time consuming or that it is not of help to the student.  Professional development focuses on the soft skills every student/ employee/ person is to possess to be able to succeed in their work environment.  Some students need to hear and be taught about acceptable behaviors and attitudes, morality, and the characteristics valued and rewarded on the job.  Work is important but students/ prospective employees need to know how to communicate and be around customers, clients, patients, or their colleages.

The Professional Development course only contributes to the success of the student guiding them toward professionalism, and becoming valued employees contributing to the good of socciety.
