Genia,
We think that prospective students have only one thing on their minds - a job after training! That is why we feel it is vital that the career services department be part of the admissions tour. In fact, career services staff should sit in the admissions department from what we see. You are right that it takes trust and time for students to see the value of career services, especially early on. You are right that the skills needed to go through the job search process take a long time to develop. Building confidence, for example, is a process that simply takes time. This is another reason to start as early as possible. Making career services attendance a requirement further emphasizes its importance. It is a way to show students that their school is there for them and they do have a network of support to go to. It shows they have everything to be successful. Great points. Thanks, Susan
