At my School we meet and great our students at the door every day. I like this because it gives me an opportunity to talk to every student. A lot of times I can get a good read on the student’s mood and demeanor. If the student is not his/her normal self it gives me an opportunity to see if I can help with anything or direct them to the proper person who can help. On the first day of class I will cover the course syllabus and let the students know what they can expect in the class and how I will grade them. I will reinforce these expectations at the beginning and again when the assignment is given.
