
I believe giving the student a positive first impression will set the tone for success of the student
I agree with you, Esther. I'm always tempted to lay down all the policies and rules of the class in the Welcome Letter I send. I want them out of the way. However, I've learned to wait -- sometimes to the end of the first week -- before edging into them. I think the students can use the first week to get acquainted with the academic requirements of the course.
