Overall improvment in student participation

I have learned quite a few tricks in breaking the ice, having students participate more in discussions.

I have found that the more fun students have, the more the students learn.  I will utilize many of the games discussed here in my next class.

Desmond I like your post.  I am going to have my students introduce themselves to one another tomorrow and share who inspired them.  Thanks

This has helped me understand how my teaching style can use some improvements. Using the tools I have learned during this class will help me quite a bit.

Something that I like to include in my class to help break the ice, is having each student introduce himself and just share with everyone what or who inspired them to become a medical assistant.  I think it is so important for students to stay focused on the original reason for wanting to become a part of the medical profession.  The stories they share are often very heart warming and just helps to bring the class together as a family.  I also share my inspiration for why I became a medical assistant as welll
