Admissions Training

The online admissions training was pretty thorough and covered essential compliance information that all admission reps need to be trained on.  This course was particularly good for my 2 new admission reps.  Good job on the course and we plan on taking some of the ideas that we learned and applying them to our in-house resource notebook which will be updated on a daily/ongoing basis.

Prospective

The training was extremely helpful. This is my first time working in higher learning industry, specifically in admissions. I thought the the training was relevant and helped me keep my responsibilities in prospective. Also, being able to read the different blogs posted by others that have gone through the training was informative. In addition, the information has allowed yet another avenue for my continued success.

Meeting the challenge of "Change"

We train with the hope of making a difference.  But a difference is mometary.  New regulations, updated sources, challenges to data keeps many of us jumping like a ping-pong ball.  Look but don't touch, touch but don't taste, taste but don't swallow.  Change, change and again more change.  the challenge is constant.

The challenge in all this changing is the williness to adapt to these changes in a positive manner.  If change is constant than our attitude to acept change must also be positive.  This positive attitude must be contagious not only to oursevles but our surrounding.  To our co-workers… >>>

The "Why"

Having worked in Admissions before being employed here there was no formal training on a lot of these measures. You were just kind of told what to do. I enjoyed this training becasue it provides all of the "why" behind the "what". The reasoning as to why certain policies and procedures are in place are just as important and help employees and students understand them more effectively as well.

importance of instructor

It was informative to learn about the rules and regulations governing admissions, financial aid, etc.  Other then being clear on the FERPA rules how can a part-time instructor use the information used in this course?

Challenging

I really enjoyed CM202 because it challenged me to learn more than just admission, it also teaches that being a good salesman wont make you a good Admissions Reprentative but knowing your school and product knowledge will!

Course Importance

This course gave me a lot of insight into all that the "front end" of the institution is dealing with in enrolling students in the school.  I did not know of all that was required by law.  It adds to my overall knowledge of the school's responsiblities as well as that of the student.

What I learned

As a newly hired adjunct instructor I was required to take cm 102. In this course learned more about policy and procedures that govern Post-Secondary Schools. My background is in Middle Grades Education. I did not realize how many different departments are necessary in order for the students, instructors and administrators to create and provide a positive learning environment the checks and balances for placement test, financial aid and business department are similar to the checks and balances of the judicial, legislative and executive branches.

Very Necessary Information

This class is effictive in providing vital information all employees should know and be aware of at all times.  Misrepresentation can cause serious ramifications to an employee and the instiyution
