There is no doubt the emphasis we place in the career education sector of higher education on helping prepare adult learners for the workplace - particularly in their areas of interest and in occupations of high demand. There is a further and somewhat understated value though that we can surely emphasize, and be proud of, as we work with our fellow faculty. Not only does our venue succeed in workforce training, but, as we know, it serves as a conduit to a brighter future to many adult learners who may not have any other options. This hope for the future is irreplaceable and rests as the cornerstone of our unified mission. Other sectors of higher education may also positively affect this mission, but career education institutions, because of their specific focus on helping adults become employed in a supportive, thorough and timely fashion places us at the forefront of opportunity.
Can anyone share with their faculty or our group at large, without breaking confidences, a particularly phenomenal graduate success that points to a future secured, or an ultimate career goal obtained, through the direct support and training of our career education institutions?
