I am also a veteran of college admissions, if you feel that 12 years in the business qualifies one as "veteran." I picked up a few tidbits from this training that will most likely prove helpful down the road.

My advice to newbies is to not take lightly the advice about getting to know co-workers in other departments i.e. faculty, FA, Career Services, etc. Tap their brains and get their perspectives - it can only help.  

I felt the training was very helpful.  There were several areas that I did not know much about and the training helped to broaden my scope of knowledge.  Glad we were given this training.
