Inform your staff

I am not an administrator, but am an adjunct instructor who feels somewhat in the dark about the goings on at my school.  I have attended numerous faculty meetings and in-services, but after completing the MaxKnowlege compliance course, realize how little I knw about the workings of my school.  It would be helpful at an in-service to give all faculty an overview of who's who and how recruiting, aid, scheduling, and school programs are handled.  It could be an option at an inservice for those who are in the dark, like me.

As an Administrator, I feel for you Chad.  A good adminsitrator or depatment head should make every effort to communicate with Ajunct personnel.  Sometimes I feel like my Adjuncts and I are ships passing in the night.  I do have to make an effort to be present on the shifts that they are working to make sure that they know I am here to support them and that they are in the loop.  I also agree that meetings should be set up with each department head to meet with adjuncts so that they can provide much needed information to Adjunct instructors.  We want Adjuncts communicating the proper information to our students.
