I've seen the importance behind a Career focused education. In letting students knowabout the career they are training for from the beginning and throughout, thereis truly a better chance for retention, completion and job placement.
I agree. Working together with instructors to provide that continual encouragement and maintain the enthusiasm for the end-product (a career) can really make a successful program. It is easy for the student (and the instructors) to get caught up in the school routine and fall into doing things by rote without much excitement or expected benefit. That is when retention can suffer. They need to be reminded of why the started school in the first place, and be shown what a successful student looks like in their program.
Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
