Improving my teaching skills

The course I have just finished (ED101)  proves that there is always room for perfection.  To be a good teacher/instructor you need to train youself constantly.  It was said within the course that we can retain only 40% of what we read.
If so, my instruction skills are  drastically increased.

I am happy to report that while I learned and was reminded of many techniques from Ed 101,  I realized that many effective teaching techniques covered in this course, I do use in the classroom. This course was a nice refresher lesson for me. There are so many things we know but yet forget to utilize in the classroom. Great Class!

I just finished ED106 and really found I enjoyed this one the best of the 3 I've taken.

I was also surprised on the attention span time.  I think we all need to focus are lecture that changes things up every 15-18 minutes to keep there attention on learning and retaining the material they need to absorb.  Like a short film clip or demonstration.

I just completed ED101 as well. I was thrilled to have the materials and the instruction as I am a new adjunct. I have been getting positive feedback from my students, but in this course I learned that I can be so much better for them. I'm excited to put into practice some of the things I learned. What struck me the most was the attention span of 15-18 minutes for adults and the use of mini-lectures. I will keep that in mind when I put together my next lesson plan.
