Been on this Rodeo several times, it take a lot of patience and charity to keep from being frustrated with the system as well as co-faculty members or co-workers that are frustrated like you. It takes time but eventully everyone buys in and it works itself out and makes our jobs so much easier and stremlined,

Excellant course

I think that rationale give students a perspective of why they are learning what they are learning before they even learn it. In a way it gives the students a system of containers of how they are going to organize what they learn from you lecture. Lesson plans are also very important as they give me a sort of canvas in which to paint on in a manner of speaking so that the next time I have to draw a picture I can improve on what I already drew.

Compression factor can be a problem with inexperiencec instructors but I found that the more I knew about the subject I taught the les and les time I found that I had to finish in the alotted classroom, theory time. Go figure.

After reading the lesson planning module this sums up what I have been trying to do for a long time. It is nice to see the actual format for developing lesson plans and something that I can use. Delivery Mode and Learning Styles are very important to consider and understand if you want to have a good outcome and a happy class room.

Spending time getting to know your students and time spent explaining the course landscape before proceeding to teach it is of paramont importance.

I agree that it is very important to arrive earily and interact with the students, it puts you and them on the same team. I am also a serial syllabus lover. It leaves no ambiguity for course landscape and expectation and is a contract between the instructor and the students and it helps keep both on task together. 

Credible, Candid, Compassionate, Committed and Clear is a very good place to start that I saw posted from another teacher. I would like to add humble and let your language be intelligent and appropriate not sorted and ambiguous, and I like the part about the possession of "soft skills" never heard it put that way.
