Games can be used to connect specific content and skills with a friendly environment where the learner is able to play, probe, make mistakes and learn.

As an dmissions representative I must remember not to let my own experiences, expectations, and assumptions color my advice to students with disabilities. 

While it may be easy to make a distinction between access and success in the classroom context, defining those terms becomes more difficult in the context of student affairs and campus participation. 

By far the most common disabilities impacting college students today are learning disabilities  or attention deficit hyperactivity disorders , or some combination of the two, is absolutely true in our school. 

Really important to remember that the ADA does have stringent rules about architectural access, BUT IN THAT assures that people with disabilities have equal access to an opportunity if they cannot reach the place where the opportunity is offered.

Gaining a more detailed understanding of Title IX and the Clery Act totally reinforced the reason we have so many policies in place.

biggest take away is  definitely ….When ideas are valued, students are empowered in the process. We can all remember teachers who made us feel inadequate and we can also remember teachers who made us feel valued in the learning process. 

People are different, as we know, and have as many different ways of demonstrating intelligence. This presents yet another challenge for the teacher. By being creative and flexible in your instructional design and holistic in your assessment methods, you will be more likely to address more intelligences that are present in your classroom.
