Compliance in its purest sense involves doing what one is supposed to do. A culture of compliance is determinded by the characterisitics and actions of a certain group.

 

I think that varying the learning methods so that they are geared toward all learning styles is the way to engage as many studetns as possible. Varying instrucitonal methods, utilizing technology in innovative ways, sending remeinders, and getting feedback from students as to how they are doing and what is and isn't working for them is important.

 

E-Learners have varying engagement types similar to their in class engagement types. It is mportant to evaluate learning behaviors and address them within the policies of the academic environment to increase learning opportunities while decreasing the appearance of behaviors which interfere not only with the student's learning, but the learning milieu for the entrire class. Documentation is key6 as well.

 

The differences betwen the use of synchronus and asynchronus discussions will be very helpful in structuring a class. It was interesting that while synchronus discussion was best suited to an individual student at a time, that is can also be suited to small groups of 5 or 6. This migh lend itself well to group assingments.

 

Help foster a positive and trusing learning environment by posting a bio of your credentials and work experience, along with a photo. Having the students do the same provides the instructor with valuable infromation with which to connect with their students.

 

With the onset of Covid-19 and the rush to become functional within an online classroom setting, this is very helpful in setting up a continuing on with a course.
