Kemberli, Feeling stressed changes how people weigh risk and reward. Stress makes people focus on the way things could go right. There is evidence that shows that they start paying more attention to positive information and discounting negative information. This means when people under stress are making a difficult decision, they may pay more attention to the upsides of the alternatives they’re considering and less to the downsides. Louise , Reading federal regulations is almost an art form. Five different people can read the regulations and you may have five different interpretations. This is one reason to have a compliance department that you can rely on for as expert opinions. Cindy Bryant
John, It is important to recognize your employees on an individual basis. If they've done something truly outstanding, then you should take the time to let them know. Instead of telling people that everyone is doing great, taking the time to pull a specific person into your office, or to write an email or a note along with that person's check, to let him know that his work is truly outstanding will go a long way.
