Dan, It definitely is, and is much easier too. We use this at one of our campuses, and it helps because all of the important information such as credit hours, length of program, etc. is pre-filled out. This can help eliminate the human error factor which can occur and really shouldn't on these all important documents. Donna Guisado
Dan, Yes BPPE has been quite prolific in its regulations, that is for sure! I find that one of the best things is to use the enrollment agreement and catalog "checklists" provided by BPPE (which you can find on their website, under the Applications tab, Compliance tools link). This tells you exactly what MUST be on these documents. It's a great way to quickly see the requirements for admissions. Your accrediting agency will also often provide these checklists too. Donna Guisado
tanya, That is a great point! It's amazing how business can literally STOP when the computers are down. Great thinking... Donna Guisado
Lore, There is no particular frequency that I know of. The BPPE website does allow you to sign up for notifications via email which is a good way to keep up. CAPPS is also a good source of information as is your particular accrediting agency. These agencies often publish bulletins or alerts that are quite informative. Donna Guisado
Pegah, This is great and speaks well of your organization! The BPPE website also allows you to sign up for notifications via email which is a good way to keep up. Gil, I think that responding by restating your own school's strengths is the best way to go. I'm not sure I'd go into mentioning "unethical practices" with a prospective student. Their thought may be why you would even need to mention it?! Talking about your own strengths, what makes your school or programs unique, sharing the School Performance Fact Sheets that show how job placement and/or retention is for your program is the best way to go. Leonid, Isn't it amazing? I've been in for over 25 years, and the changes in all areas have been tremendous. Again, it is mostly about protecting the consumer (our student) so it is understandable. But the changes have certainly been life-changing for many in our sector. Donna Guisado
Leonid, I too, work in what would still be considered a relatively small school, and that certainly does make for an easy learning environment when it come to different departments. This would certainly be beneficial in your job as an admissions representative, as you would know precisely who to refer students to when they ask specific questions. In our organization the campus director, in conjunction with the program director, creates the course scheduling. I think it is admirable that you want to learn even more! Donna Guisado

Leonid, You hit the nail right on the head! It is unfortunate that in many cases, private post-secondary schools are often surrounded by "caution tape". (Well put!) It's a long, sometimes ugly story as to why, but there are many private post-secondary schools who just take those laws, rules, and regulations, put them into practice and become really great institutions of learning! It's great that you have recognized how many regulatory agencies our sector answers to. Just by being aware of this, it will improve your performance at work. Especially with your attitude about it being good to protect the… >>>

Leonid, I love this! This is a great way to make sure everyone is on the same page. We also use this electronic method to keep everyone up-to-date, and you can also have drives specific to individual job functions, etc. Besides that, it's very "green"! Donna Guisado
