About me

Activity

I think critical thinking has always been a challenge for students.   to some, on line learning is less engaging so it is up to the instructor to involve them more and keep students motivated.

Active learning is a great way to get students involved, and be accountable for their own learning.

Closed caption is a graet option for the hearing impared.   I didn't know that there was free software that could do this.

I had no idea there were so many resources available.  These will definetly help me when dealing with students with disabilities.

Creativity is key to ensuring all students have access to the course information.  Besides our legal obligation, we are abligated as educators to make sure students understand the course contents

Having worked with disabled students in the past I understand that there can be many limitaions in their learning.  Ther is also a number of different learning styles dependign on their disability.  Instructiors need to have an open mind and be understanding that all disabilities are not the same.

I have never heard of a metarubric before.  What a fantastic resource.

Google can be a great resource in finding a rubric that meets your needs.   They need to be fair to all students and clear on wha the expectations are of the assignment.

I really like the idea of peer-to-peer assessment.  This allows the student to obtain constructive feedback prior to submitting an assignment.

Rubrics are a great source in helping the student understand exactly what is expected of them for a specific assignment.
