HAVING A STUDENT WITH DISABILITY TAKES A LOT OF PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING ON THE INSTRUCTORS PART. THERE WAS A STUDENT I HAD IN MY CLASS WITH A DISABILITY AND I WAS WORRIED THAT THERE WOULD BE A DISTRACTION WITH HER ASSISTANTS THAT CAME WITH HER, HOWEVER SHE WAS A MOTIVATION TO THE OTHER CLASSMATES, THEY SAID TO THEMSELVES IF SHE CAN DO IT THEN THEY COULD ALSO.IN CONCLUSION HAVING A DISABILITY DOES NOT STOP YOU FROM REACHING YOUR GOAL. YOU CAN DO ANTHING IF YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT.
As an instructor I belive and evaluation should be done twice a month. After the first two weeks the students need to have an idea of how they are doing in the course, and that will determine if tutorting is needed, and at the end of the last two weeks the student will see how he/she has improved.
A mistake some new insturctors make is coming into the classroom thinking that they know everything based on the feild experience and the did not prepare before coming to class.
To motivate students instructors should always be positive, incourage student, letting them know that they can do it and to keep positive thoughts about the subject matter. Using words like good job, excellent, and I know you could do it always work for my students. If the instructor is positive then the student will also be psoitive.
