Communication and critical thinking are two things that we cant teach too much.  The workplace is full of problems and opportunities for people to problem solve and have workplace rediness.

CTE is about teaching where the grass dirt and gravel all meet.  We empower kids to be able to work in groups and do whatever is asked.

Mantal illness is on the rise.  We need to be prepared and ready, continuing our education is a must.

First year meeting all the students needs makes me think about when I asked some of the girls in class to clean up instead of welding, some parents thoght I was picking on the girls.  It took some healthy conversation to recover.

My first year I learned about boundries and parents.  It's always best to have professioanl boundries in place for that moment when you need to confront kids or disipline kids.   

Maintaing a professional teacher student relationship throught the day.  I have had to remind myself and think critically about how to progress as a role model in CTE while on my feet.  This has taken considerable practice.

The histroy of CTE is our agricultural heritage.  We cant fully appreciate our comforts and conviences without looking back at the struggle it took to get there.  

Essentials for CTE teachers is one that I increasingly take interest in.  I've been teaching for almost 4 years and could have used more resources in the begining.  I always teach the history of FFA and Land Grant Universities.

We have a cluster program at our high school.  It is a great way for kids to begin to plan for future employment.  The skills in our tool box are going to be beneficial reguardless of the position of employment.
