Through this lesson I have figured out that although the curriculum should be developed in a repetitive manner for ease of learning, as an institution we must lokk at different technologies to ensure our courses reach our learning objectives while keeping our students fully engaged..

With multiple stakeholders comes a more robust community in gathering information when looking at a curriculum or process change in a course. Using all possible sources will help keep the course relevant and current.

I never considerewd the importance of rubrics in creating my assessments. The will definately help in the peer to peer assessment process.

A well written, dynamic syllabus is the most important tool I can create. It is the foundation of the course and if not written properly the students will spend more time trying to navigate the course than actually learning the information being provided in the course.

Consistency seems to be quite important as I develop modules for the coursework. Not only does consistency enhance the learniing environmrnt for the student, it will make the creation of the course easier and help with the flow of information.

This course centers around the different types of students that will be encountered in the e-learning realm and the importance of maintaining a professional, well documented communications system with the students.

My big take away were the six learning styles and how Avoidant, Competitive, and Dependent styles attribute to students lack of participation. It will critical to find these traits in my students quickly to coach them until they get the confidence they require to use one of the the other three learning styles; Collaborative, Participant, or Independent.

I alsways considered a biography a way to pat oneself on the back. I never considered it as a tool that can be used to introduce yourself to your students and get a better understanding of your students and where they are coming from. I am already thinking of ways to incorporate biographies into my course.

Realizing there is a difference between subject knowledge and content knowledge will be crucial in becoming an effective instructor. It will be paramount to have every instructor go through the course from a student standpoint as part of the onboarding process.
