About me

Antoine Lewis currently serves as the Family and Student Support Liaison for Hoosier Academies in Indianapolis, IN providing a range of services to parents and faculty (K-8). 2013 - 2014 he was the Academic Advisor for Indiana Wesleyan University. He is also a part-time faculty member and consultant at various institutions and has been tutoring and teaching at the collegiate level for various institutions since 2003, specializing in courses related to business, education and information systems. Prior to this, Antoine was a Student Affairs Specialist at Harrison College and an Academic Coordinator for ITT Technical Institute. Overall he has an extensive background in student affairs, academic advising and online facilitation.

Antoine's passion to help students with their education started while at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), while advising and mentoring student-athletes. Throughout the years, he has provided training to staff and management in regards to database usage and learning management systems to track student progress. He believes in expanding ones knowledge and improving a student’s life, long-term.

Ali, PowerPoint is a great tool and students often enjoy presenting work in different ways other than MS Word. I feel Turnitin or Grammarly is a great tool and investment for students and teachers a like to provide quality papers and feedback. Antoine Lewis

David, This is a great thing you are doing. Show the students how to research and find reputable resources on their devices that will benefit them academically. Best to enforce personal time on those devices will be allowed during break or not prohibited. Antoine Lewis

Robert, WebQuest is great for internet teaching and allowing learners to interact with resources on the internet. It is important that we as faculty must remind students that anyone one can post and alter Wikipedia information. Antoine Lewis

Susan, With medical courses seeing and simulating what you will do after completing the program is very important. YouTube is great for sharing actual images, pictures, and videos to organize information and communicate with students. Antoine Lewis

Hossai, For the subject matter you teach digital x-ray system is a great classroom technology. It is indeed exciting that the institution provides eBooks and iPads. With this digital x-ray system it will be better time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing as less radiation is always better. Antoine Lewis

Robert, For the subject matter you teach ecu tuning software is a great classroom technology. It is my understanding that the software provides a reliable and clean recalibration of a vehicle's standard engine management system. Beverly, PowerPoint is the most commonly used visual aid. Used wisely it can be great for presentation. Keep in mind other classroom technology you can use is projectors white boards, and video. Antoine Lewis

Dale, Having a system to give quality feedback is important especially when dealing with online students. Build a rubric/standards foe each task in class help the student just as must as the instructor. They know the expectations of each task and faculty and better provide quality feedback in a timely manner. Antoine Lewis

Bernie, Workplace simulations have become so valuable. Simulating what this will have to do and being able to get immediate feedback is very important and prepares our graduates more than ever. Antoine Lewis
