Elijah, Great analogy using trade. Trading something in turn for them to sign up to go to school. You are right it's a way to lure people in and not showing them the truth behind what we do. Kathie Dherit
Lani, You are right, if the student is talked down to, or given negative feedback all the time, their self-esteem goes away. Even if you need to correct a student doing something negative in a positive manner won't leave a bad taste in their mouth and again their self-esteem will still be there. Kathie Dherit

Raymond, That is one of the reasons why we don't have current students give testimonials or even have them speak to prospective students. We don't want the negative impact it may have, or incorrect information given out to the student. Kathie Dherit

Tom, Deceive...that's a good word to use. We don't want to deceive people into thinking they are applying for a job, and not school. It's a bait and switch concept which of course and you state illegal. Kathie Dherit
Patrick, Correct, the students shouldn't have surprises thrown upon them at the last minute. Everything should be out in the open. Any obstacle they face with school, we should be able to given them the information to help them overcome it. Kathie Dherit
Valeri, And if one department tells the student one thing, and another department states something totally different, it's not building trust with the student. They won't know who to believe. Kathie Dherit
Gary, Great answer. I believe you have hit on all of the values and that is what it is all about! Kathie Dherit
Jenna, Right, telling an innocent story about a student without giving their name may seem harmless, but if there is enough details in the story that person you are telling it too may know them. Kathie Dherit
Jacqueline, Exactly, since it is constantly changing, it's hard to give them a direct answer. It's best for them to do their own research and get to know what the jobs are out there in the career that they have chosen. Perhaps with research they may find that this career is not what they expected. Kathie Dherit

Brandi , Great answer. Being more informed so they are less likely to drop. We want them to know what to expect while they are in school but also what the job will entail. If they can't stand for long periods of time or can't handle stress, then culinary and medical assistant may not be for them. They need to be aware of everything! Kathie Dherit
