Erin, yes, but by doing the right thing, you don't want to cross the line that you misrepresent the school. If someone wants more updated graduate employment rates for a program, you can't give them that information, because it hasn't been reported to accreditation yet. You want to however, explain the reason why the information is the way it is. Kathie Dherit
Toby, I agree with you. I (or a family member) would want to be treated with respect and fairness, therefore I would hope that I would treat the same way in return. Kathie Dherit

Toby, Good analogy. You don't want a movie review to come out before they have seen the ending! So you don't want the student to give a testimonial to something they haven't completed. Kathie Dherit
Deborah, I believe compliance is a result too. By doing the right thing and informing the prospective student of all the necessary disclosure information up front, they can make an informed decision. And their decision may be to attend our school. Kathie Dherit

Erin, If our reputation is tarnished in the community, then that would have an adverse impact on our school. We wouldn't have the students enrolling, and employers in the community wouldn't want to work with us. That is a huge consequence! Kathie Dherit
Erin, FERPA requires schools to disclose what is considered "directory information", which is a record of a student that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. Therefore we have disclosed in our Student Policy Handbook, those items that we consider directory information. A student would have to document in writing if they did not want any of that information released. Kathie Dherit
Tanya, Correct. If we tell a student something that is untrue, their commitment weakens. We then don't have a committed student, and they walk out the door. Kathie Dherit

Tanya, Interpretation is the conception of another's behavior. So if we said we were the "best" career school in PA, I would interpret that differently than someone else would. You are correct in saying that if we use clear, concise, factual information we can create trust. Kathie Dherit
Frank, We want to have students come to our school who want to change their lives. By offering them something of value in return for them signing an application, it defeats that purpose. Kathie Dherit
