I am currently an online adjunct professor in Billing and Coding and Medical Administrtive programs. I have worked within the
education sector for over 10 years and have held positions such as:
School Director, Associate Director of Education, Program Manager for
Allied Health Sciences and Education Chairperson. My passion for
teaching is what drives me to encourage and promote education for many
years to come.

New thoughts for motivation

Frank, I absolutely agree. Even my daughter's high school teachers state the kids don't have critical thinking skills due to "I want it now" decade. The internet has somewhat cripled our kids, I think.

Multiple choice

I find that students prefer to take multiple choice tests and they are not very efficient in short answer. In the medical field there is alot of memorization so short answer tends to be quite cumbersome.

Formative method

I find that quizzes work best for me when I evaluate students. It gives me a guideline of what information I need to go over and gives me a gauge of what other teaching methods I may need to use.

The Shy Learner

I find that alot of students are extremely shy and reserved. I try to incorporate group activities to encourage participation as much as possible. Currently, I'm in an online environment, so discussions work very well.

Kinesthetic learners

I find I enjoy teaching kinesthetic learners. I am one as well so it was quite challenging for me to find creative ways to connect to auditory and visual learners. My classroom was always very interactive. Did anyone have this issue as well, initially, as an instructor?
