John, Yes, everyone certainly likes to do the easy tasks first. Sometimes though, we can make hard tasks easy by breaking them down into bite sized chunks. Dr. Melissa Read
Michael, Sometimes it's ok to tackle a few easy tasks before diving into the harder ones. They can be great confidence builders. Eventually though, we do need to turn our attention to our more important work. Dr. Melissa Read

Paul, A lot of people struggle to balance work and home tasks. Some people create one consolidated list for all tasks and others keep their lists separate because a consolidated list is too overwhelming. It's all about what works best for you. Dr. Melissa Read
Jennifer, A lot of people do the same thing. It's a nice confidence builder to knock a few things off your list prior to getting to bigger tasks. Dr. Melissa Read
Rebecca, Excellent to hear you have found a new direction, or perhaps renewed direction. Yes, staying on top of things weekly will likely help you keep organized. Dr. Melissa Read
Patricia, Excellent approach! Definitely remember to maintain confidentiality by assigning students unique numbers as opposed to using names on exams. Dr. Melissa Read
Mike, I hear you. There are so many of us who experience the same thing. It's easy to take breathing as an automatic/ given thing, but sometimes we really do have to focus on it. Dr. Melissa Read
Sara, It sounds like you have struck a nice balance between grading efficiently and grading in depth. I like your approach because you gain speed and the students gain depth of feedback. Dr. Melissa Read
Walter, I think this is a fair assessment. Some grading can be a unique opportunity to reinforce course topics. Where it makes sense, we should keep our test questions rigorous and evaluations the same. In situations where we are frequently assessing or where we have many students, we can move to more streamlined formats. Dr. Melissa Read

Amy, I understand where you are coming from. It can be hard to motivate other people. A portion of motivation can be found from the external environment and it sounds like you are creating a great environment for your students. However, a portion of it is internal and is harder to influence. Dr. Melissa Read
