Bethanne, So glad to hear you have developed a system that works great for you. It sounds like these time and stress management techniques are making a dramatic difference on your outlook and stress level. Yes, sometimes writing out an agenda for the week in advance can really help give you peace of mind. Glad to hear you found it. Dr. Melissa Read
Patrick, Sounds like you know what you need. You may be able to create this kind of environment at your workplace. Some institutions do have quiet rooms or libraries which you can use to temporarily retreat. Dr. Melissa Read
Roberta, Excellent to hear. Note that you don't have to make all of these changes overnight. Sometimes a slow progression toward your goal state is the best solution because you can ease into things. Dr. Melissa Read
Veronica, Sounds like a great system. Multiple choice and true / false give me quick grading options so I love using them as well. At the same time, I like to balance these with open-ended question formats to deeply test knowledge. Having a nice balance in formats has worked well for me. Dr. Melissa Read
Juanita, So glad to hear that you have benefited from this course. It sounds like you are, in many ways, already on top of things. At the same time, I recognize that there is always room for improvement and I'm glad you do too. Dr. Melissa Read
Deb, I am with you for sure! Sometimes it is nice to knock a few items off our lists. It feels good because we get a nice sense of accomplishment. I also love breaking large tasks into smaller ones. This process makes them a lot more manageable for me. Often times, the smaller tasks can be knocked out of the queue relatively quickly and that also gives me a feeling of progress. Dr. Melissa Read
Veronica, It sounds like you are on top of things and that procrastination is certainly not an issue for you. You may, however, be someone who struggles with immediacy instead. If this is the case, you might try putting your tasks down every now and then and just taking a break for a moment. At a guess, you will find that you are more productive when you return to your work. Dr. Melissa Read
Andrea, So true. Our children model after our behavior. It's important that they see us taking breaks as they develop habits that may last a lifetime. Dr. Melissa Read
Benjamin, So true. It's wonderful to be able to take a break from our technology. Some of us don't have that luxury but if you do, try it for even 15 minutes and see how far it takes you. Dr. Melissa Read
Darrell, Excellent to hear! Yes, if you already have a great fitness plan in place, definitely keep it up. I'm impressed to hear that you're up to exercising 4-5 times a week. Dr. Melissa Read
